How much does a stamp cost now? 39 cents. On it's face, that doesn't seem like a whole lot, but lets do a quick mathematical calculation. Say you mail in 6 bills per month (gas, electric, cable, phone, car insurance, rent/mortgage). .39 x 6 = $ 2.16. Chump change, right? How about mailing those same 6 bills for a year? $2.16 x 12 = $25.92. Still not a huge amount, but over $25.00 in postage just to pay the bills! I can think of a few better things to do with that $25.00.

No Money in your Account when the bill is paid
With automatic payments from your bank account (ie: pay a bill on the 20th of every month), if the money is not there, then you will be charged a fee from the payee and the bank. Last time this happened to me, I got whopped with $70 in total fines! Ouch!
