Lost is the most successful TV-show there ever has been in a very long time. It started out like a scripted Survivor, but when handed to J.J. Abrams, it turned out to more than only people on an island. It has mysterious fogs, big creatures, and a whole group of people called "the others" being their enemies. | Credibility of the story. |

| Weird stuff are happening on he island in Lost. Sometimes things may seem too unreal or unexplainable. But not for long, since the show usually make us understand why and how it happened. Also, the surroundings and picture gives us the feeling of them really being on deserted island. It doesn't seem fake and you can see it's made with a high budget. |

| Character relationships. |

| Lost is really a character-driven series. Without the deep characters in it, it wouldn't be what it became. As they fight the island, there are simultaneously problems that need to be resolved within the characters. It might be with a characters inner self, or with another part, like love, hate, jealousy, etc. |

| Not afraid of killing off the good guys. |
|
| In too many series the good guys always survive and get by the traps and difficulties just fine. This doesn't happen in Lost. Many of the cast has died and that gives us credibility to the story - it's happening, it's real. |

| Good use of flashbacks. |

| Flashbacks can become very annoying when not used correctly. That's not the case in Lost. They always arrive when we need them and explain just exactly what we need to know in order to understand a character better and the reasons for a certain act. |

| No part with devoted credits when it starts. |

| I've noticed something in Lost that I'm very pleased with. Usually there is a part after the TV-show's "prologue" or intro with music and the credits. Lost doesn't have that! It just starts of and shows the credits while the show is running. There's no time to be lost here. |
